Age in Place in Romeo, MI

Somewhere in time is our philosophy.

We work with the resident and their loved ones to see where they are living in time in order to create a safe, personalized, and familiar environment. We work closely with the families, loved ones, and residents to truly understand what helps, what confuses, what comforts, and what is best for our each of our residents.

The family and friends of the residents of Angelica's Place will become part of our family and can feel confident that we provide the highest level of care. The senior residents are treated with respect, courtesy, and dignity at all times. Our goal is to create a very personal and loving environment, which allows the residents to call Angelica’s Place home.

We are a secure senior community with keys pads upon entering and exiting, which helps to make all staff and residents, as well as family members, feel a little more at ease. We also perform a comprehensive pre-assessment to determine the best plan for your loved one, which includes caring for mind, body, and soul.

We will be utilizing assessment material from:

  • The Dementia Care Series, Caring Sheets: Thoughts & Suggestions for Caring, edited and produced by Eastern Michigan University Alzheimer's Education & Research Program for the Michigan Department of Community Health.
  • The resident’s doctor and caregivers will assist us with the resident’s plan of care and implementation.

Physical Environment and Design

We are a small facility, which allows for ongoing daily contact with each of our residents to ensure that your loved one gets the attention they deserve. The look and feel of the community reminds them of their home and the living room allows us to interact and see how the residents are doing throughout the day, but they are always within easy access of their personal room. Shadow boxes will help direct them throughout the community to lower the potential for confusion or frustration.

Angelica’s Place creates a service plan for each individual resident upon admission. The service plan details the personalized services required by the resident, and is updated regularly to assure that the resident receives the appropriate care as his or her condition changes.

Semi-Annual, In-Service Training of Staff

A consultant specializing in Alzheimers and Dementia will work with you and your loved one to develop a customized plan of care and determine daily goals. Our staff is trained utilizing Teepa Snow videos.

Going the Extra Mile

We at Angelica’s Place have taken the extra step by developing a hydration program. Because the thirst mechanism in the elderly may be dysfunctional, we help put focus on drinking small, frequent amounts of fluid throughout the day rather than waiting to feel thirsty. Each shift, our staff makes sure the residents have fresh water and monitor their intake.

This is just one of the many small ways we help ensure the ongoing health and happiness of your loved one.
